Dr David Hernandez graduated from the University of Otago in 2005 with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery and Bachelor of Medical Sciences(Dist). Upon completion of his medical degree, he interned at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney and then moved to the Illawarra region soon afterwards to pursue a career in Critical Care.

David spent a number of years working in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care in St George, Wollongong and Shoalhaven District Hospitals before taking the plunge in to General Practice specialist training.

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and is always seeking to continue to advance his clinical practice. He is interested in all aspects of General Practice and has a particular interest in Musculoskeletal  medicine. David was awarded GP Supervisor of the year in 2022 for his contribution to medical teaching.
